Going into the championship game, Iowa looked like it was going to be a pretty interesting game--at
least thats what we photogs were saying. Iowa was the team that beat UMich towards the start of the season.

Michigan started scoring early into the game: 2 runs in the first, 3 in the second. Iowa wasn't putting any on the board

Standing in foul territory puts you pretty close to the action. We photogs had to get outta the
way when Milian came for the ball, which she ended up just missing. A downside of being so close to the
action is you run the risk of getting hit. I finally got hit by my first ball before the game when someone missing catching
a ball in practice. I still, luckily, haven't been hit by a hard hit ball during a game, though I hopped over two during game 3.

By the time we got to the fourth inning and the score was 7-0 photographers
started asking if there was a mercy rule in championship games.

Michigan didn't mercy Iowa, but still ended up winning 7-2. Photographers (there were six of us) and cameramen all
crowded around the team looking to get the celebration shots.
A slew of Michigan players were top players in the series, including Merchant who was named MVP of the series. The number one seed Wolverines
continue on to host NCAA regionals this weekend here in Ann Arbor.
