Because of a bit of a snafu with this week's storylist, I
found out about an event once the writers had already left for the event, which took
place in Farmington Hills (40-60 minutes outside of Ann Arbor). This was the
first photo'd heard of it, and apparently the speaker was important, so I went out.
Amber, who was at the Daily at the time, was kind enough to offer her car, Lumie (pictured above)

Lumie's a car with a whole lotta character. The shocks
are pretty shot, the left turn signal works only if you hold it just right, and of course theres
the distinctive paint job. Driving away from the Daily, Amber looked liked someone who was
sending her daughter off to the first day of kindergarten. She doesn't really let
people borrow her car. I had the honor of turning mile number 201,900 on the way to Farmington Hills.

I actually made it to the event on time.
The speaker, Jeffrey Sachs, was named the country's top
economist by Time Magazine if I remember his introduction correctly. He was speaking
at a temple that was jam packed with people. He has all sorts of ideas for ending
poverty in the world
My bike. We found this coming back from church last
week submerged in a fountain. It had no left pedal, brakes that didn't work, and wheels
that wobbled (hence Joel naming it Mr. Wobbles). So I took it to the bike shop to get fixed.

I paid for em to make the wheel straight (or as the "technicians" at the bike shop call it, "true")
They wanted to charge me 11.50 to install a used pedal, so I did that myself. I also messed with the
brakework. On the left was brake shoe I put on, on the right is the one I took off. Whoever ditched this
thing into the fountain really drove it to its death.
Today we also got to work spackling and painting one of the apartment's walls.
Early in the year we were messin around with airsoft guns (guns that shoot little plastic pellets) in the apt and
didn't realize we were putting dents in the wall. We did a darn good job painting.
