Mike Hulsebus Photography: The GEO Walkout, Prosthetic Eyes, Nichols Arboretum (The Arb)
This Thursday GEO, the union for graduate student instructors, went on strike in the
name of better benefits, essentially canceling a great deal of classes around campus

No one goes into the buildings, which are all picketed by GEO supporters.
The Michigan Daily has our people pass out papers on the Diag so students don't have to go through picket lines
to get the paper.

While talking with Daily people on the Diag this person, protesting
the strikes went by so I made chase and grabbed a photo. There were a small number of students protesting
the protest. Most pointed out that they felt the strike hurt them as undergrads, who pay (as the figure was given to me)
over $100 for each day of class.

Vocal people those GEO members.

I also made my way out to the Kellogg Eye Center to photograph the process for
creating prosthetic eyes.

A photo last week of an EECS lab. The wafer pictured is a small
circuit made using lithography to selectively expose sections away until only what they want remains. The room is
lit by filtered florescent lights that make everything in there rather yellow.
Coldstone Ice Cream, not contest with "small" "medium" and "large" instead calling their
sizes "like it" "love it" and "gotta have it." They actually use it too, saying stuff like "you can make that a gotta have it for thirty cents more"

Me and folks I know've been drawing comics recently. Mine are located here
(link pops) and if anyone else sticks all their comics on a page I'll give them a link in a later entry.
