Leaf on the Diag

You've been warned.
Out on the Diag today the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
Transgender) folks had Coming Out Day 2004. I was out on the Diag readin my USA Today
when I saw one of my friends from poetry things settin up stuff so I stayed to hang
with her and nabbed some photos while there. The speakers were kinda mediocre, but of course
maybe I felt that way cause they weren't exactly speakin to me. Anyhow after all that they set up
a doorway for folks to symbolically come out of and say "I'm so-and-so and I'm bisexual!" or "We're so-and-so
and we're a household!" and whatnot. There were all sorta supporters--the School of Social Work
sent out people with a big ol' banner of support. As far as the whole cermony,
it was pretty cool to have people saying "Hey, I'm me!"
and then have the entire audience cheer, essentially saying "Hooray! You're you!!" Kinda makes
ya wanna vote for Kerry.
