Tuesday was the slowest news day ever in all my
time at the Daily. I went in and they told me there wasn't a single photo to shoot for a story.
All the stories they did have (e.g. campus crime numbers, autopsy results on a girl, young voters) weren't
anything photographable, so the dayside editor asked that we each get two feature photos--photos that
run themselves in the paper with only a caption. First thing I did was hit this organ conference at the Hill Auditorium.
Graffiti on my walk between Hill and the Daily.
When I got back they told me they were running a Friday Focus on some
diseased Elm trees. So these next few'll be running full color friday on the back page.
A squirrel stopped by while I was shooting. Feeding squirrels: still fun.
It was bid day for all the sororities around here so all of 'em
were out squealing and picture taking. I took some photos but didn't really come out
with anything that good. There wasn't much really going on, just yelling and cheerings.
It also wasn't easy cause anytime they'd see the camera they'd ask
if I was from the Daily, and tell me I should put them on the front page because Alpha Phi
is the best house, etc etc.
