Mike Hulsebus Photography and Life in Ann Arbor
With Family Fare being done, I had my first free Sunday
since June so I drove downtown and walked around.
While there I ran into Festival Polski 2004 in Calder Plaza. Best I can tell
its a festival for Polish folks to get together and enjoy traditionally Polish things and
raise cash to give to Polish people for college
All of the music was Polka music
When I got there, this group was doing what I'm guessing
is supposed to be a traditional Polish dance of sorts.
Then the regularly-dressed people took their turn on
the dance floor
Some of the kids were out there on the plywood dance floor too, but think these
kids playing on the scupture seemed to be having the most fun
There were a number of booths out there as well--mostly Polish foods as you'd expect, but also a palm reader who'd charge
people 5 bucks to listen to five minutes of generalizations that anyone could apply to his or her life like "you seem to foolishly spend your money"
And the last three photos are just interesting things I saw on the way back to the parking structure
Oh yeah, also went out to Noshville to play a game of Scrabble
with Zach and Kristin
