I went with Mr. Mike Foss to the June 30 game of the West Michigan Whitecaps (the area minor league team) against the South Bend Silver Hawks. The game started with skydivers

and the league little players escorting of the Whitecaps onto the field as is tradition.

For some the draw of taking in a game at the ballpark is as much the events between innings and the atmosphere as it is the baseball. This guy, however, didn't really care if he got a tee-shirt or not.

So how'd the game go? Well, this is a South Bend player. Whiff.

This is a Whitecaps player. Smack.

This young fellow ran against Crash, one of the mascots, between innings. Despite losing his shoe, he still left Crash in the dust.

Crash never wins.
