Karen and I drove out to the Detroit Zoo (actually in Royal Oak) on Saturday
to have a look around.
Ever wonder if the animals think that they're some sort of ambassadors
deemed special enough to have thousands of people file past their homes for their
viewing enjoyment?
If any of your friends have been to the Detroit Zoo, ask to see their picture
in front of the fountain. They'll have one; everyone does.
The coolest exhibit that they've got at the Zoo is an underwater tunnel where
seals swim overhead. (It was a pretty busy day at the Zoo as you can tell).
You don't really realize how odd anteaters look until you see them in person lumbering around.
The vultures were pretty mobile. It just looks like he's taking off--he's not
able to fly around, only flap his arms as he runs.
Little praire dogs.
All the kangaroos were resting in the shade.
The peacocks don't like to be bothered.
A good number of animals were actually out doing things.
Snow monkey.
The gorilla held this pose for at least thirty seconds and then walked away.
It's everyone's favorite animal with an old-man face: the gibbon!
Red Panda
He's yawning not roaring, but I still figured it was a pretty good photo to
end the entry with.
