Joel before what is known as the milk bet or the gallon challenge
Rumor has it that it's impossible to drink an entire gallon of milk in an hour without throwing up. Joel, during one of his last nights here in Ann Arbor, set out to do the impossible. At 10:15 last night, it began.

Here at the Crow's Nest, we support our roommates in all endeavors.

The journey of a gallon begins with a single sip.

Here's Joel at 10:20: a third of the way into it and feelin fine. I think he said something like "this isn't so bad so far"

10:45. I have more photos of Joel drinking milk than I will ever need.

10:51. He started pouring the milk into some Mickey Mouse Disney cups we had around the apartment to keep track of how much more he had to go.

Spencer, official lighting assistant.

10:56. Sickness begins to set in with plenty more milk to go.

10:58. Joel starts saying this was a bad idea. 2 more cups and another quart or so in the jug.

Watching him was a mix of hilarity and sadness as we watched what Joel went through. After all this has happened, we've looked through the photos at least four times around here.

11:00. Supportive to the very end.

11:02.

11:09. By this point he just wanted to throw up and be done with it.

11:11. Seconds after Joel threw up. The frame before this came out and you can sorta tell he's throwin up, so I figured I'd use frame right after it (did you really wanna see that?). Once it happened, I looked away and just fired the camera. I missed.

Joel, happy to have thrown, contemplates how he will write his blog entry and convey just how good it felt for him to throw up.

So that was that. Hopefully the photos above show not only the pain but the fun we had. All of us (even cringing Karen) are glad we didn't miss the attempt at history.
